Job SummaryToronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries Inc. is seeking a part time technical support person Monday to Fridays 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturdays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Friday evening and Saturdays may vary due to scheduling meaning that the individual may not need to work every Friday evening or Saturdays.
This position varies between 16- 28 hours per week.
Duties- Provide technical support for both MacOS and Windows operating systems, assisting users with software and hardware issues.
- Assist Students, staff and students in understanding and utilizing various applications, guiding them through technical processes.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, issues reported, and resolutions provided.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to escalate complex issues as necessary.
- Conduct follow-up communications with users to ensure their issues have been resolved satisfactorily.
- Scanning documents and filing documents as needed.
- Assisting the front desk
- Responsible for opening and closing the school (on some occasions)
- Assisting with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Graduated with a diploma and/or degree in a Technical Program directly related to tech support (Information Technology).
- At least 1-year experience in a technical support position providing direct tech support to customers, students and/or employees.
- Experiencing providing tech support for computers (laptops and desktops), printers, security cameras, network/internet, phone lines (VOIP System), software's, adjusting thermostats, cabling, troubleshooting onsite and remotely
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts and protocols (Microsoft 365 Admin portal, TCP/IP, HTML/CSS (Website Design), Powershell/Bash)
- Proficiency in troubleshooting both MacOS and Windows operating systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
