As a Technician – Fleet Commissioning within our Fleet Services Department, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on Peel Regional Police vehicles as required, commissioning and decommissioning vehicles.
What will your typical day look like?- Commissions new police operations vehicles including the installation of decals, light bars, push bars, detainee cages, etc.
- Decommissions police operations vehicles e.g. removal of decals, detainee cages, light bars, push bars etc.
- Assists with performing preventative maintenance on PRP fleet vehicles e.g. oil and filter change, brake inspection and service, flat repair, tire changing etc.
- Fabricates, assembles and installs garage equipment/materials.
- Maintains and organizes the Fleet Services parking lot and the vehicle pound as directed.
- Operates the Fleet Services van to perform minor repairs at divisions and other PRP locations as required.
- Assists Licensed Technicians when required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with:- A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional mechanical/vehicle maintenance courses and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years related automotive repair/service experience required.
- Working knowledge and ability to use all hand tools to perform automotive maintenance and repairs preferred.
- Working knowledge of servicing diesel vehicles preferred.
- Working knowledge and experience operating a tow truck an asset.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform all activities.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence (Class G) with full driving privileges
What we offerThe salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $62,617.00 to $98,214.00 per annum. Please note that this vacancy is to replace a regular, full-time member.
Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($85,937.00 - $98,214.00) based on experience.
