The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. is hiring a Mechanism Repair Technician at its workshop at 800 Hymus Boulevard in Saint-Laurent, Quebec. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will repair circuit-breaker control mechanisms and assemble other high-voltage equipment. This is an on-site role with no telework, scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and clean circuit-breaker control mechanisms and their components.
  • Inspect components and replace those requiring replacement.
  • Conduct required mechanical and electrical tests, and write repair reports.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of other high-voltage equipment.
  • Follow applicable internal and external regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Professional diploma in electromechanics or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in industrial mechanics, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electricity, and industrial mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly.
  • Experience with manual crimping tools, a drill, an electric screwdriver, and a vernier caliper.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams and assemble components using assembly drawings and parts lists.
  • Must already be authorized to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • French and English are required for communication with partners, clients, and stakeholders outside Quebec.
  • A background check is required before hiring. Electrical technician or electrician training, and a travelling-crane or forklift licence, are assets.
