The Financial Specialist plays a key role in supporting the complex and evolving financial needs of Information Technology Services (ITS). This position is responsible for comprehensive financial planning, analysis, reporting, and cost recovery across multiple service domains and service recipient organizations. The role ensures accurate, timely, and transparent financial information to support operational decision-making, governance requirements, and stakeholder accountability. This role is an experienced accounting position within the department with the expectation that complex accounting knowledge is required to perform the role.
What we offer:Rate of Pay: $49.27 per hour to $61.59 per hour
Status: Temporary Full-Time
Duration: 12-months
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications- Successful completion of a University Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required
- CPA Designation (CA, CMA or CGA) Member in good standing with CPA Ontario required
- Ontario Health Reporting Standards Level I & II preferred
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of recent, related experience
- Intermediate level finance related experience preferred
- Ability to synthesize innovative approaches to data analysis, interpretation and communication
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated excellence in quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluation.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with all levels of staff
- Time management skills
- Ability to investigate and resolve problems, capable of working under pressure to meet rigid deadlines
- Ability to deal with stress in a manner that promotes a positive and professional work environment
- Self motivated and action-orientated; an adept team player and team leader who can work independently
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of how statistical and financial parameters interact to affect end of the day operating efficiencies
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
