Location: Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB), Education Centre
Dates: Commencing June 1, 2026 and ending August 31, 2027 or earlier if incumbent returns
Temporary: 35 hours per week, 12-month position
Salary: $73,430 - $85,905
Reporting to the Superintendent of Education, the Executive Assistant provides effective and professional administrative support and assistance as part of the Learning Services – Student Support team.
Duties and Responsibilities:Provide effective and professional administrative support and assistance to the Superintendent of Education including but not limited to the following:
- Responding to inquiries, requests, and correspondence from parents, teachers, administrators, community partners, trustees, and ministry personnel
- Meeting preparation, planning, minute taking and follow up
- Budget management and purchasing
- Maintenance of confidential files and information
- Support of Elementary, Secondary, and JK-12 Schools
- Provide direct support to the Superintendent of Education
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:- College Executive Secretarial Diploma or equivalent
- Five years secretarial experience as an Office Manager or equivalent (system level experience would be advantageous)
Assets:- General knowledge of the relevant legislation such as Education Act, Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, and respective regulations
- Excellent organizational skills, positive attitude, thorough knowledge of good office and records management procedures, and ability to exercise leadership skills and good judgment
- Exemplary interpersonal, oral, written communication, and technological communication skills
- Ability to extract, analyze, and work with data
- Ability to think ahead and take initiative on projects
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and co-ordinate jobs/tasks to meet deadlines and handle frequent concurrent tasks in a demanding environment
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and diplomacy
- Strong aptitude in computer operations and a high skill level in the use of software such as Microsoft Word and Excel in a PC environment
- Strong leadership skills
