Summary of duties, but not limited to:Comprehensive care planning and assess and implement short-term psychotherapy, including:
Patient Assessment:- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments of children and adolescents
- Formulate assessment findings and determine the suitability for appropriate resources
- Consult with team members and participate in team discussion regarding assessment and treatment, when required
Care Planning:- Develop an intervention plan in collaboration the interdisciplinary team, based on identified needs.
- Document intervention plan according to specific hospital and professional standards.
Interventions:- Provide individual group therapy/treatment for children and adolescents and draw upon recognized psychotherapy models
- Consult and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, as required.
Provide Parent Support:- Conduct family assessments to identify strengths, needs, and intervention goals
- Provide individualized parent coaching to support child development and family well-being
- Educate parents on age-appropriate developmental milestones from infancy, early childhood until 18 years of age.
- Support healthy sleep routines and address common childhood sleep challenges
- Coach parents in managing temper tantrums and other challenging behaviors.
- Teach emotional validation techniques to strengthen parent-child attachment and support children’s emotional regulation
- Help parents build effective communication and discipline tools that foster cooperation and resilience.
Team and Program Development:- Participate in program development, student education and research as required in a fully affiliated academic setting within the University of Toronto. Participate in personal professional development.
As a role model and champion, you will work to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.

Qualifications- Master degree in related field required
- Current registration with a College that allows for the regulated practice of psychotherapy required
- Minimum 3 years clinical mental health experience, preferably in a hospital setting
- Experience working with families, providing parenting support, and treating children and adolescents’ mental health issues.
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of psychotherapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, psychodynami
