The ideal candidate will provide specialized therapeutic services to students who need it, including children with diverse needs. This role involves developing individualized treatment plans, supporting patient progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. The Therapist will play a vital role in enhancing patient well-being and fostering positive therapeutic outcomes.
Position Overview:The Badwi Foundation is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate students pursuing studies in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) and/or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to join our summer camp team. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting children of diverse abilities through communication development, behavioral support, and inclusive programming.
Key Responsibilities:- Support campers with varying communication and behavioral needs in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment
- Implement strategies aligned with speech and language development (e.g., modeling language, supporting AAC use, encouraging social communication)
- Apply foundational ABA principles, including prompting, reinforcement, and data collection under supervision
- Assist in the development and facilitation of structured and unstructured camp activities
- Promote positive behavior, emotional regulation, and peer interaction
- Collaborate with senior staff, therapists, and camp leaders to support individualized camper goals
- Observe and document camper progress, behaviors, and communication attempts
- Provide support with daily routines, transitions, and self-help skills as needed
Qualifications:- Currently enrolled in or planning to pursue a degree in Speech-Language Pathology, ABA, Psychology, Education, or a related field
- Strong interest in working with children with diverse learning needs, including autism and communication differences
- Basic understanding of communication strategies and/or behavioral principles (preferred but not required)
- Patient, adaptable, and team-oriented
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
