UI Designer Summer Internship (Tech Start-up/Social Health) Job Description:

We are looking for a student currently enrolled in a graphic design or digital arts program to take part in a Summer co-op/internship here at Goodself - a health/tech social media platform. This role primarily focuses on designing screens using Figma with a strong emphasis on UX design. The role requires knowledge of Figma, including Auto Layout. Familiarity with additional design softwares, such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Affinity and video softwares such as Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects would be advantageous, though not mandatory. This role provides a great hands-on experience as we work to scale the business globally.

Responsibilities would include:

• Designing new screens using Figma.
• Strategizing UX planning.
• Contributing to brand development through the creation and updating of marketing materials such as logos, video editing, and phone mock-ups.
• Conducting research and benchmarking.

Preference to candidates who are:

• A student currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution.
• Enrolled in a Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Creative Marketing or related program at a university or college.
• Strong skills in Figma, with a solid understanding of using Auto Layouts, components/variations, and plugins.
• Experience in graphic design.
• Experience with video editing.
• A portfolio is mandatory (please have it avaliable on your resume).
• Motivated individuals who can troubleshoot minor issues independently.
• Intellectually curious, and a willingness to engage with new ideas.
