As a Software Developer Specialist you'll play a critical role in building and scaling Nasdaq's big data pipeline infrastructure to support business-critical insights. You will design, implement, and optimize data lake solutions that power global markets.

Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data pipelines using Apache Spark, Iceberg, Databricks, and AWS services to ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance across terabyte-scale datasets
- Participate in architecting scalable solutions for extracting, transforming, and loading structured and unstructured data using modern data lake patterns
- Partner with analytics teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions from raw data to consumable data marts
- Monitor data pipeline performance and implement improvements that support scalability.
- Mentor team members and conduct code reviews to maintain engineering excellence.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with big data cloud-based technologies.
- Solid understanding of AWS.
- Experience building projects with Databricks and Iceberg is a requirement for this role.
- Working knowledge of Python and Java with experience in ETL workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage priorities in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Leadership experience or strong mentoring background with demonstrated ability to guide architectural decisions.
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Familiarity with cloud security architecture.
- Experience with modern BI tools and semantic layer technologies.
- Prior experience supporting production-grade systems in cloud environments.
This position will be located in St.John’s or Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

The base pay range for this role is $96,000 - $132,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides
