We manufacture both standard and custom-designed equipment, including top-entry and side-entry agitators, static mixers, peristaltic hose pumps, and reinforced pump hoses.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Workshop Assistant to support our mechanical assembly and workshop operations. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools, and looking to gain hands-on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
You will work under the direction of senior assemblers and technicians, assisting with equipment assembly, shop organization, and general workshop support tasks. This is not a heavy trade or engineering role, but some technical awareness and attention to detail are important.
Key ResponsibilitiesWorkshop & Assembly Support- Assist with the assembly of peristaltic pumps and agitators according to instructions and specifications
- Support technicians with alignment, fitting, and basic troubleshooting tasks
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Perform basic quality checks and report issues to supervisors
Shipping, Receiving & Inventory- Assist with packing, crating, wrapping, and preparing equipment and spare parts for shipment
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Inspect incoming goods against documentation and report damaged or missing items
- Help maintain organized storage areas in the workshop and warehouse
- Perform regular stock checks and assist with inventory updates
General Workshop Duties- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas
- Assist with job cards, documentation filing, and basic record keeping
- Support occasional local site work, deliveries, or pickups as needed
- Operate hand trucks or similar equipment (forklift experience is an asset, not required)
Required Skills & Qualifications- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Physically capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Physically able to lift and move equipment as required
Preferred (Nice to Have)- Previous workshop, manufacturing, or mechanical assembly experience
- Ability to read basic drawings or assembly instructions
- Exposure to mechanical or rotating equipment (pumps, mixers, etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical or trade-related education is an asset but not required
