AutoQuest Trailers is seeking a Yard Manager who is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the trailer dealership lot. This hands-on role involves managing the movement, organization, inventory, and maintenance of trailers, ensuring the yard is safe, clean, and organized, and supporting the sales and service teams.
Key Responsibilities- Yard Operations & Organization: Oversee the daily flow of trailers, organizing parking for inventory, service units, and customer pickups.
- Loading/Unloading & Movement: Safely operate forklifts, yard trucks, or skid steers to load, unload, and maneuver trailers, including assembling new units.
- Trailer Maintenance & Prep: Inspect trailers upon arrival and departure, perform or coordinate minor repairs, and wash/detail trailers for sale.
- Customer Service: Assist customers during pickup, demonstrating proper hitching and checking trailer safety before leaving the lot.
- Safety & Compliance: Work in a safe manner and maintain a clean and hazard-free environment.
- Security: Monitor yard access, lock gates, and ensure all trailers and equipment are secured at the end of the day.
Required Qualifications- Experience: Previous experience in a yard supervisor, warehouse, logistics, or construction role, ideally in the trailer or heavy equipment industry.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, the ability to operate machinery (forklifts, spotter trucks), and basic mechanical aptitude for repairs. Strong attention to details.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 40-75+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- License: Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications- Forklift certification.
- Class 3 Driver’s License.
Winning Candidate will need to provide a Driver’s Abstract & Criminal Record Check.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
