OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Program Supervisor to oversee and coordinate programming for youth ages 10 to 17 years. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in working with youth, and be amenable to supervision. This role involves youth supervision and interaction, ensuring quality care, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The Program Supervisor will play a vital role in fostering a fun, interactive, safe environment while effectively managing resources and working as a team member to meet the needs of the youth participants.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily operations of youth programs, ensuring high standards of quality and safety
- Lead and mentor youth, promote a pro-social environment, maintain a professional demeanor and good boundaries with youth and colleagues
- Encourage youth participation of indoor and outdoor activities
- Optimize resource allocation by submitting activity/program proposals/budgets to Program Coordinator
- Collaborate with Board of Directors and represent the Centre as good ambassadors when interacting with community resources.
- Staff scheduling will include working part-time after school hours until the end of June, then being amenable to switching to a summer schedule that will include Monday-Friday afternoons into evening hours.
- Attending performance evaluations, and training sessions to maintain a skilled and collaborative team
- Maintaining cleanliness of the Centre
- Participate in occasional off-site excursions locally (hiking, climbing gym, etc)
- Keep control of the Centre and youth participants
Qualifications- Provide a vulnerable sector Police check (will be reimbursed)
- Experience working with youth population and be able to program plan
- Manage canteen purchases
- First Aid/CPR trained, or be amenable to attend for training
- Ability to work as part of a team, foster collaboration, and handle multiple priorities efficiently
- Computer literacy and French language speaking is an asset
