Location: Halifax - Hybrid
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented AI Intern to support the development and implementation of AI-powered solutions across our organization. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate passionate about artificial intelligence, data analysis, and solving complex problems using structured thinking.
The AI Intern will apply strong analytical skills to evaluate data, interpret model outputs, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
What Are Your Responsibilities?- Analyze datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights that inform AI model development
- Assist in designing, developing, and testing AI/ML models and prototypes
- Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and exploratory data analysis (EDA)
- Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and statistical methods
- Translate analytical findings into clear, business-friendly insights
- Conduct research on emerging AI tools, frameworks, and industry trends
- Identify opportunities for process optimization using AI-driven solutions
- Document methodologies, experiments, and results with clarity and precision
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solve structured and unstructured problems
What Type of Qualities and Qualifications Should I Have?Required- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate insights clearly
- Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts and statistical reasoning
- Experience with Python (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization techniques
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Preferred- Experience with exploratory data analysis (EDA) and statistical testing
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Familiarity with LLMs (prompt engineering, embeddings, evaluation methods)
- Experience with SQL for querying structured datasets
- Experience building small AI-powered applications
- Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
In-office Requirements: Hybrid. Interns are expected to be in the office Tuesday–Thursday, and on Mondays and Fridays as needed.
Duration: Four months (May 4, 2026 – August 28, 2026)
ChangeMakers' interns are paid minimum wage for a standard 40-hour work week per Nova Scotia employment guidelines.
