This is a 6 month contract role.
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. Please note that artificial intelligence–based tools may be used at certain stages of the recruitment and applicant screening process.
The Area Manager plans, organizes and directs operational activities to achieve specified cost and profit objectives and ensures all work is performed in accordance with contract specifications, company policy and procedures, standards and customer satisfaction.
Now, if you were to come on board as our Area Manager, we’d ask you to do the following for us:- Review and control personnel and supply costs for assigned accounts; ensure these conform to budget standards and sound operating practices
- Inspect assigned accounts, ensure work performed meets company and customer standards for account retention
- Visit customers on a regular basis to maintain satisfactory relationships
- Assign cleaning personnel to accounts, implement work schedules and ensure accurate time recordkeeping for each account site
- Verify and approve daily and weekly payroll, make adjustments as necessary
- Hire, promote, transfer and performance manage, under the guidance of the HR Department, all associates in assigned accounts
- Conduct orientation and initial training for new associates
- Requisition and maintain necessary equipment and supplies for all accounts
- Travel extensively to various sites to conduct inspections, deliver supplies and meet with Associates
- Provide daily reports to Operations Manager
- Resolve day to day issues in each account
- React immediately to any customer complaint
- Assist site Supervisors and Lead Hands with problems
- Promote operational quality standards at all times
- Perform cleaning duties at sites when necessary

- Experience working with collective agreements in a unionized environment
- Ability to operate all cleaning equipment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute tasks with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated success in a leadership role, leading, supervising and/or managing others
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing
- Flexibility to work evening or weekend hours as required
