OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Advisor and/or Licensed tech to take the next step into the Leadership Role of Assistant Service Manager. With your strong background in Service and Parts Operations, Mechanical knowledge, and exceptional Customer Service Skills, you will oversee daily service operations, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring high-quality repair and maintenance services.
The Assistant Service Manager will also play a key role in sales and upselling services to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth. A background in automotive repair and dealership experience is mandatory to be considered for this role. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence. This is a mentorship driven role, with the opportunity to learn how to run a successful Service Operation.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of quality.
- Manage and motivate a team of technicians, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
- Build strong relationships with customers by delivering exceptional customer service and addressing concerns promptly.
- Assist customers with vehicle diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
- Drive sales through upselling additional services and maintenance packages to meet departmental goals.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper financial records.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Coordinate with parts departments to ensure timely availability of necessary components for repairs.
- Monitor service department metrics, including productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
What We Need From You- 3+ years as a Service Advisor, Lead Tech, or similar role
- Understanding of flat rate, unapplied time, and expense control
- Technical knowledge—you speak the language of mechanics
- Discipline and attention to detail (leaky work orders aren't an option)
- Ambition to grow into a Service Manager or Fixed Ops Manager role
- Ability to handle tough conversations and resolve conflict with honesty and clarity
