About The Role:Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time Associate Director, Supply & Inventory Planning to join our dynamic Supply Chain division.
In this role, you will lead the integrated supply chain planning team for Plasma Protein and Related Products (PPRP). Plasma protein and related products are medications made from proteins in human plasma, or an alternative. Alternative proteins and molecules are created in a laboratory. Through DNA technology, some human proteins are copied, and other molecules are designed to function like human proteins. Medications made from these alternatives are called related products. Whether a product is made from human plasma or an alternative, its purpose is the same: to help save or improve the quality of someone’s life.
You will be accountable for all supply and inventory planning processes for this product line and will lead the development of plans to meet customer needs while achieving productivity, financial, and operational targets. A critical role at the intersection of several national oversight functions, regional operations, and evolving strategies, the incumbent is also responsible for leading and/or representing the integrated supply chain in critical portfolio and organizational initiatives.
Formula for success:Leads Integrated Supply Chain Planning for the PPRP portfolio:- Leads supply and inventory planning processes for an evolving portfolio
- Develops and executes national supply planning strategies that support the company's commercial objectives while ensuring continuity of supply to meet patient needs
- Partners with stakeholders including but not limited to the PPRP Formulary, Medical Affairs & Innovation, Finance, Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, and Suppliers, to drive the monthly sales and operations (S&OP) / integrated business planning (IBP) process by conducting supply/demand analysis and strategic recommendations and decisions
- In collaboration with Procurement, PPRP Formulary and others, leads Request for Proposal (RFP) process for PPRP portfolio management
- Leads PPRP supply management with internal and external manufacture to ensure accurate and continuous supply while reducing risk and minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
- Manages development and implementation of appropriate key performance indicators and associated reporting processes
Drives operational efficiency and streamlines cross-functional operational interactions related to PPRP supply and inventory, including but not limited to:- Optimization and management of plasma for fractionation from CBS’ whole blood and apheresis plasma collections programs, the purchased plasma program, and the creation of toll fractionation production plans in conjunction with CBS’ contract fractionators to optimize value, spend, operational efficiency, and service for a dynamic portfolio
- Supplier relationship management and change management associated with fractionators and suppliers (includes internal- and external-driven changes)
- Excess and obsolete GMP inventory management
- Management of support for Hospital Complaints processing and customer letters for the PPRP portfolio where required
