Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Technician to be a lead Technician in the shop. The Shop requires a technician that is focused on Testing and Inspections to solve vehicle concerns. You will have team of younger technicians under you to help with repairs and maintenance. The Shop owner is focused on providing the shop with tools and equipment that stay working/repaired and will invest in what you need to complete your work on client vehicles ( safety equipment, new equipment, training opportunities etc.)
The shop runs a four day work week that helps to provide a balanced home/work life to allow you time for hobbies and family. ( shift work starts at 7am or 8 am and end at 6pm or 7pm) Monday to Thursday. The Shop will invest in you with continual classes, trainers etc to help you stay current with your skills and abilities to keep you at the top of your game. You are provided with boot allowance and small tool allowance and many tools like tpms, scanners, lab scopes, programming computers etc are all provided. The shop has invested in upgrading lighting to help the shop stay brighter and A/C to help keep you comfortable during the hot months. Duties- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics and repairs, including engine, transmission, brake systems, and electrical components
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to execute repairs and modifications
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues
- Assist with vehicle assembly and component replacement as needed
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and timelines
- Adhere to safety protocols, including heavy lifting procedures and proper tool handling
- Continual education and provide mentorship with younger technicians
- Complete inspections on every vehicle
- Quality Control Inspections completed on every vehicle to ensure Clients Safety and reliability after repairs.
Skills- Proven automotive repair experience ( You will be asked to help educate clients through your inspections etc.)
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams for troubleshooting
- Experience with automotive assembly and maintenance tasks
- Customer service skills to address client concerns professionally
- Physical capability for heavy lifting ( safety equipment added to shop to help with tires etc) and extended periods of standing or working under vehicles
- Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics software
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
