Overview:Are you a highly skilled CNC Lathe Setup Programmer with strong hands-on experience in lathe programming, setup, and live tooling? Our client, a globally recognized and well-established manufacturing leader, is looking to add an experienced professional to their growing machine shop team in Brampton.
What You’ll Do- Program, edit, and optimize CNC lathes for efficient, high-precision production.
- Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, offsets, and first-off approvals.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and fine-tune programs to maximize accuracy and productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering and production on tooling selection, fixtures, and continuous process improvements.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measurement tools.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives aimed at reducing cycle times and operational waste.
- Maintain equipment through routine preventive maintenance and keep a clean, organized work area.
What We’re Looking ForMust-Have Skills:- 5+ years of CNC lathe programming and setup experience (Twin-Spindle, Twin-Turret machines strongly preferred).
- Extensive live tooling experience—required.
- Strong manual G-code programming skills.
- Experience with 4-axis lathe programming and manual systems.
- Proven background in machining castings and bar stock manufacturing.
- Expertise with Fanuc Series and Okuma controls (must-have).
- Solid machinist foundation across operation, setup, tooling, and programming.
- Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
- Skilled with measurement tools (micrometers, height gauges, gauges; CMM experience is an asset).
- Experience with bar feeders, chucking setups, and multi-spindle/live-tooling operations.
Nice-to-Haves:- SolidWorks or CAD/CAM experience.
- Previous experience in ISO-certified environments.
- A team-oriented, detail-focused mindset with a passion for precision machining.
