Job SummaryLasqueti Island Hotel is a unique off grid pub, restaurant and Hotel that sits at False Bay on Lasqueti Island. Lasqueti Island is tucked inbetween Vancouver Island and Texada Island. We are a unique establishment in that our hotel is off grid and remote on a beautiful gulf island with only access to the island by walk on ferry. Lasqueti offers an experience to anyone who can come and enjoy the beauty of the place we call home. With an amazing community and beautiful weather the hotel and restaurant becomes a very busy place in the summer months.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Head Cook. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality food in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent food handling skills, and experience in the food industry. This position offers an opportunity to create a menu and cook food on a remote island and contribute to creating a welcoming dining experience for our guests.
We are looking for someone with experience in designing and creating a menu that can be served throughout the summer in your area of expertise.
Duties- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items that you create.
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously, ensuring excellent customer service
- Handle food safely and maintain cleanliness in all food preparation areas
- Assist with food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain proper food handling procedures in compliance with safety regulations
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, sanitized, and properly maintained
- Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food safety and sanitation
Qualifications- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is required
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if required
