Salary range for the position is $63,484 to $91,259. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
How Will You Create An ImpactThe Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively to support projects and initiatives of the Medical Affairs department. The Coordinator serves as a vital linkage and communication source to keep the department informed and aligned to its priorities and takes primary responsibility for coordination of major conferences and events, and provides leadership, guidance, coordination, logistics, and support to the department’s projects and programs. The Coordinator works with physicians, project teams, health authority staff, and partners to develop and implement initiatives and to ensure project goals and objectives are achieved.
What Will You Work On- Plans, coordinates and facilitates the development of program communications, materials and program calendars, working with partners and facilitators to ensure program deliverables are on track.
- Works independently and acts as the program interface between the Medical Affairs department, health authority leadership at all levels, external consultants and other health authorities as appropriate.
- Organizes all aspects of logistical coordination, program materials and supplies, ensuring effective implementation of programs and identifying obstacles to increase program efficiency.
- Coordinates and influences program evaluation plans, by collecting and analyzing data, developing themes for improvement, providing recommendations and identifying risks supported by complex analysis and reporting to ensure departmental evaluation objectives are met
- Utilizes project documentation tools, organizational systems and processes, and presentation software to support planning, decision-making, evaluation, and creation of summary reports.
- Collaborates with internal clinical staff and external partners such as Doctors of BC, Ministry of Health, Divisions of Family Practice, or College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia as required / appropriate to capture, clarify or share information.
- Develops information capturing criteria and conducts literature reviews from a range of sources related to evidence-based and best-practice methodologies appropriate to a range of projects and initiatives.
- Provides input and assists in work processes related to Quality Improvement. Collaborates with colleagues to streamline and optimize operational processes and procedures.
- Participates on assigned internal and external committees as appropriate.
- Works with senior staff, ensures follow through and coordination of briefing materials, presentations, reports and proposals as required for project planning committee meetings.
- Supports internal communications (newsletters, updates, emails, requests, correspondence), and assists with maintaining the department web page and/or SharePoint TeamSite(s).
- Coordinates and standardizes the implementation of technology (new & existing) within the department.
- Applies project management and change management methodologies to facilitate implementation of projects. Develops and implements project work plans; guides and coordinates project activities.
- Prepares project budgets, authorizes invoices, monitors expenses, and reports project variances.
- Liaises with partners and/or funders, such as hospital foundations, Doctors of BC, Joint Collaborative Committees, across the province to improve the organization’s projects, programs and services.
Event Coordination- Manages events from conception to completion across programs and initiatives.
- Sources appropriate venues and negotiate contracts with hotels, venues and suppliers, arranging event space, accommodation, catering, AV, evening receptions, printing, signage, table set-ups and other on-site logistics.
