The Office of Business, Operations and Strategic Affairs provides leadership to the overall operational management at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC). The Office works collaboratively with senior leaders across the University to develop integrated long-term plans that bridge academic and research aspirations. The Office of Business, Operations and Strategic Affairs is responsible for administrative and operational functions for the following departments: Business Development (Retail & Conference Services, Food & Beverage Services, Aramark, external business ventures in the area of hospitality), Campus Safety & Security, Campus Planning & Analysis, Design & Construction Management, Facilities Management including Capital Projects, Financial Services, Information & Instructional Technology Services, Office of Sustainability, Partnerships & Legal Counsel, and N’sheemaehn Child Care Centre. The office’s goal is to ensure that financial and operational resources are aligned to provide a distinct university experience to its expanding student population.
The Campus Planning and Analysis Office falls within the BOSA portfolio and is responsible for providing management information and analytical support to facilitate and enhance UTSC senior management decision-making, strategic planning, and policy formation. Key areas of responsibilities are enrolment planning, revenue planning, and other aspects of institutional research, including data analytics and special projects. The Office works closely with other central UTSC departments as a key partner in the achievement of UTSC’s revenue objectives and performance measures. The Campus Planning and Analysis Office is the key liaison between UTSC and the Office of the Vice-Provost, Planning & Budget, on enrolment targets and development of UTSC’s long-range budget plans.
The Institutional Planning and Research Office (IPRO) is a unit at UTSC that is housed in the Campus Planning & Analysis Office, the department brings together institutional data providers and data analysts into an integrated decision support team to further UTSC’s data-driven decision making objectives and foster a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement. The IPRO is a data resource for the campus community, connects data consumers to data experts, establishes data integration among units on campus, promotes a culture of data governance, and facilitates access to common and routine data.

Working under the direction of the Director, Campus Planning & Analysis, you will be the first point of contact for all inquiries and data requests made to Campus Planning & Analysis and Institutional Planning and Research Office. You will be responsible for budgeting and expense management, triaging data tickets, assigning requests to data analysts best positioned to provide the requested information, and following upon assigned data requests. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining websites, dashboards, statistical reports, presentation material, data access levels, while ensuring adherence to data governance protocols. You will be responsible for coordinating meetings, assessing needs and contributing to the development of business systems, running queries and analyzing datasets, data monitoring, disseminating data reports, planning components of projects and serving as a resource on specific issues to a group of specialists.
