Job SummaryThe Director of IT is a hands-on leader responsible for managing the organization’s IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, and service management. Reporting to the VP, IT, this role oversees projects, change management, M&A integrations, MSPs, and Microsoft accounts, ensures effective incident and service request resolution, enhances user experience, and drives the adoption of emerging technologies to support business growth. This role is based in our new Aurora office.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Planning- Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Identify opportunities for digital transformation, innovation, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and support to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
IT Governance & Operational Management- Oversee project delivery, including planning, execution, and monitoring progress against timelines and budgets.
- Manage change management processes to ensure controlled and efficient implementation of IT changes.
- Lead and coordinate IT integrations from mergers and acquisitions (M&A), ensuring seamless alignment of systems, data, and processes.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, including MSPs, to ensure SLA compliance and service quality.
- Administer Microsoft accounts, licenses, and subscriptions, ensuring compliance, optimization, and cost control.
- Ensure IT security, data integrity, and operational continuity measures are maintained.
Hands-On Technical & Service Management- Work hands-on with IT systems, networks, servers, cloud solutions, and enterprise applications.
- Oversee the management of IT incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and continuous service improvement.
- Drive improvements in end-user experience, including service desk performance, training programs, and IT support processes.
Security Management- Oversee IT security practices, including risk management, access controls, and protection of organizational data and systems.
- Manage and coordinate response to security incidents and IT emergencies, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
- Establish and maintain incident response procedures and ensure readiness through testing and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to address vulnerabilities and strengthen overall security posture.
Innovation & Emerging Technology- Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies to enhance operations, security, and business performance.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, cloud services, networking, and enterprise applications.
- Experience managing MSPs, other service providers, and vendor relationships.
- Experience administering Microsoft accounts, licenses, and subscriptions.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, change management, IT service management (incidents/service requests), and M&A IT integrations.
- ITIL certification or equivalent IT service management qualification preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience managing small to medium IT teams and budgets.
Salary: 130,000 - 150,000
