As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Director of Sales, Canada who will lead national sales strategy and execution across our Canadian portfolio. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding distribution, and strengthening our presence across both medical and recreational channels.
Reporting to the VP, Commercialization, this role is an integral member of the leadership team, overseeing key commercial relationships including provincial distributors, national and regional retail partners, and agency teams. You will translate market intelligence and consumer trends into scalable strategies that accelerate brand visibility and performance across Canada.
What You'll Be Responsible For- Developing and executing national sales strategies that drive revenue growth and distribution expansion across multiple provinces
- Building and managing relationships with national and regional retail partners, buyers, and category managers
- Leading key account strategy including listings, promotions, and ongoing business reviews
- Managing relationships with provincial distributors including OCS, AGLC, BCCS, SQDC, NSLC, and NLC
- Providing strategic direction and oversight to third-party sales agencies across Canada
- Monitoring sales performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and adjusting strategies accordingly
- Managing promotional budgets and evaluating return on investment across sales initiatives
- Leveraging market data, category insights, and consumer trends to inform strategy and pricing decisions
- Collaborating cross-functionally with commercialization, marketing, and operations teams to ensure strong execution
- Supporting product launches through alignment on supply, pricing, and distribution strategy
- Contributing to leadership team planning, forecasting, and reporting
- Leading and developing internal sales team members, including the National Sales Manager (medical)
- Representing Nextleaf at industry events, trade shows, and key partner meetings
What You Bring- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in senior sales leadership or key account management within consumer-packaged goods
- Experience operating within a regulated industry, preferably Canadian cannabis
- Strong track record of managing national or regional retail accounts
- Established relationships with Canadian retailers and provincial distributors considered an asset
- Deep understanding of cannabis categories, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience developing strategic account plans and managing promotional budgets
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience working with third-party agencies or external partners
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel and ERP systems like Dynamics 365
- Ability to travel frequently across Canada

Working ConditionsYou may work remotely, provided you reside within a two-hour driving distance of an international airport. Our head office is located in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This role requires frequent travel (approximately 1–2 weeks per month) to meet with retail partners, distributors, and attend industry events across Canada. Occasional meetings outside of standard working hours may be required.
