As they continue to expand their presence across Atlantic Canada, they are seeking a Director, Stakeholder & Media Relations to lead regional communications, stakeholder engagement, and media strategies. This is a key leadership role within the marketing and communications team, responsible for driving measurable outcomes while strengthening relationships and brand presence across the region.

The Job!As the Director, Stakeholder & Media Relations, you will lead the development and execution of integrated stakeholder, communications, and media strategies across Atlantic Canada. You will act as a key spokesperson and relationship builder, ensuring the organization maintains a strong and trusted presence with partners, communities, and media.
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive stakeholder, communications, and media relations strategy, aligned with organizational goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government representatives, community partners, industry stakeholders, and media outlets.
- Act as a key spokesperson, representing the organization in media interviews, speaking engagements, and public forums.
- Oversee the planning and execution of stakeholder events, conferences, and community engagement initiatives, including quarterly travel and occasional in-person events.
- Lead negotiations and manage partnerships with external stakeholders, sponsors, and collaborators.
- Develop and execute proactive media strategies, ensuring initiatives are effectively communicated and promoted.
- Oversee the development of communications materials, including presentations, reports, webinars, and messaging frameworks.
- Lead promotion and education campaigns, ensuring alignment with national strategies and delivery of measurable KPIs.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
What you bring to the jobYou are a strategic and influential communications leader with a strong ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive impactful engagement.
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in communications, stakeholder relations, media relations, or public affairs
- 5+ years of leadership experience, managing and developing teams
- Full bilingual proficiency in English and French (written and spoken) — this is a must-have
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, and media relations
- Strong experience developing and executing communications strategies and campaigns
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
- Demonstrate strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and issues management expertise
- Highly skilled in relationship building, negotiation, and collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups
- Adaptable, strategic, and able to balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution
