Position: Door & Glass Technician (Full-Time)

Location: Southern Ontario (GTA and surrounding areas)

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Door & Glass Technician to join our team. This position involves servicing both commercial and residential properties across Southern Ontario.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in doors, glass, automatic door operators (ADO), and locksmith services, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Door & Hardware Services

• Install, repair, and maintain commercial and residential doors
• Work with hollow metal, aluminum, and wood doors/frames
• Install and adjust:
• Door closers (surface & concealed)
• Continuous hinges & standard hinges
• Panic bars / exit devices
• Weatherstripping, sweeps, and seals
• Diagnose and fix issues related to alignment, latching, and closing

Automatic Door Operators (ADO)

• Install, service, and troubleshoot automatic door systems
• Push button systems
• Safety sensors
• Power operators
• Ensure compliance with AODA standards
• Perform adjustments and preventative maintenance

Glass & Glazing

• Remove and replace:
• Single and double glazed units
• Tempered and laminated glass
• Install glass in:
• Aluminum frames
• Sliding doors
• Commercial storefront systems
• Apply proper glazing tape, silicone, and sealing

Locksmith Services

• Install and service:
• Deadbolts, lever sets, mortise locks
• Electric strikes & magnetic locks
• Perform:
• Rekeying and master key systems
• Key cutting and duplication
• Troubleshoot access control hardware issues

General Service & Maintenance

• Perform site inspections and troubleshooting
• Provide on-site repairs and emergency service calls
• Communicate clearly with clients and property managers
• Maintain clean and professional job sites
• Complete service reports and documentation

Requirements

• Experience in doors, glass, ADO, or locksmithing (preferred)
• Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently and on-site
• Valid driver’s license (required)
• Ability to lift and handle heavy materials (doors, glass units)
• Basic understanding of Ontario Building Code & safety standards
