Position: Door & Glass Technician (Full-Time)
Location: Southern Ontario (GTA and surrounding areas)
Job OverviewWe are looking for a skilled and reliable Door & Glass Technician to join our team. This position involves servicing both commercial and residential properties across Southern Ontario.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in doors, glass, automatic door operators (ADO), and locksmith services, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Key ResponsibilitiesDoor & Hardware Services- Install, repair, and maintain commercial and residential doors
- Work with hollow metal, aluminum, and wood doors/frames
- Install and adjust:
- Door closers (surface & concealed)
- Continuous hinges & standard hinges
- Panic bars / exit devices
- Weatherstripping, sweeps, and seals
- Diagnose and fix issues related to alignment, latching, and closing
Automatic Door Operators (ADO)- Install, service, and troubleshoot automatic door systems
- Push button systems
- Safety sensors
- Power operators
- Ensure compliance with AODA standards
- Perform adjustments and preventative maintenance
Glass & Glazing- Remove and replace:
- Single and double glazed units
- Tempered and laminated glass
- Install glass in:
- Aluminum frames
- Sliding doors
- Commercial storefront systems
- Apply proper glazing tape, silicone, and sealing
Locksmith Services- Install and service:
- Deadbolts, lever sets, mortise locks
- Electric strikes & magnetic locks
- Perform:
- Rekeying and master key systems
- Key cutting and duplication
- Troubleshoot access control hardware issues
General Service & Maintenance- Perform site inspections and troubleshooting
- Provide on-site repairs and emergency service calls
- Communicate clearly with clients and property managers
- Maintain clean and professional job sites
- Complete service reports and documentation
Requirements- Experience in doors, glass, ADO, or locksmithing (preferred)
- Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and on-site
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials (doors, glass units)
- Basic understanding of Ontario Building Code & safety standards
