About UsNorthern Shopper helps deliver food and essential goods to communities across Nunavut. We focus on doing it better: smarter logistics, better packaging, and a real commitment to the people we serve.
We’re growing, and our online presence needs someone who can actually take ownership of it.
The RoleWe’re looking for an E-commerce Manager to take charge of our website and digital storefront. This person will keep our product catalog accurate and organized, improve how customers experience the site, and help us run campaigns that actually drive sales.
You won’t be doing everything alone. Department managers across the business contribute to product data and updates. Your role is to bring structure to that process, set expectations, spot gaps, and coordinate improvements.
You’ll also work with a fractional CTO for technical support, and report directly to the COO to align on and help shape overall digital strategy.
What You’ll Be DoingProduct & Website Management- Oversee a catalog of ~10,000 products (pricing, descriptions, photos, inventory status)
- Coordinate with department managers who maintain product data, ensuring consistency and quality
- Identify gaps, errors, and opportunities for improvement across the catalog
- Keep the website running smoothly (troubleshoot issues, test updates, coordinate with technical support)
Campaigns & Growth- Plan and execute promotions, seasonal campaigns, and product launches
- Work with leadership to highlight key products and initiatives
- Track performance and refine campaigns based on real data
UX/UI & Experience- Continuously improve the user experience across the site
- Apply strong UX/UI judgment to make the site easier to navigate and more effective at converting
- Identify friction points and lead improvements in layout, structure, and flow
Coordination & Leadership- Set clear expectations for internal contributors to the website
- Keep initiatives moving by coordinating across departments
- Surface issues early and propose practical solutions
- Work with the COO to develop and refine digital strategy at a high level
What We’re Looking For- Experience managing an e-commerce store (Shopify or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with large product catalogs
- Ability to coordinate across teams and hold a high bar for quality
- Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and how they impact conversion
- Comfortable working with both non-technical teams and technical partners
- Someone who takes ownership and drives outcomes, not just tasks
- Experience with inventory or fulfillment-heavy businesses
- Design or photo editing skills
- Familiarity with tools like Shopify, Canva, Airtable, Excel, G-sheets and/or similar systems
- Understanding of the principles of programming
What Success Looks Like- The website is accurate, organized, and easy to use
