Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ECE-IT professional to join our cozy, nature-based childcare centre, inspired by Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies. Our small program serves eight children with a team of three educators, allowing us to maintain staffing above minimum ratios and thoughtfully support vacation and sick day coverage within our team.
This position focuses on supporting children’s emotional and physical well-being through meaningful, play-based experiences, including art, outdoor exploration, reading, and child-led play. Our centre cares for children aged 1 to 3 years, and experience with this age group is essential.
The ideal candidate brings strong communication and organizational skills, along with empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of early childhood development. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with children while contributing to a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Duties- Foster positive and respectful communication with children, families, and colleagues
- Support children’s emotional and physical well-being throughout the day
- Engage children in play-based learning experiences, including art, outdoor play, and exploration
- Document children’s development and daily experiences in a clear and organized manner
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment through daily upkeep
Qualifications- Experience working with young children in home-based or childcare settings
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles; classroom experience is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to diverse learning needs and abilities

Pay: $32.00-$37.00 per hour
