James Lyng Adult Education Centre, part of the English Montreal School Board (EMSB), offers adult learners a supportive and accessible environment to continue their education and work toward their goals. Located in Montreal, the centre provides academic programs, Basic English courses, and other learning opportunities designed to help students build skills, complete credits, and move forward with confidence. As part of one of Quebec’s largest English public school boards, James Lyng is committed to quality education, student support, and lifelong learning.

The French Second Language Tutor will provide high-quality, personalized French language tutoring for students in the Centre. This part-time, on-site role involves designing tailored lesson plans, delivering engaging and interactive sessions, and monitoring student progress to ensure language development. The tutor will collaborate with educators, support team and administrators to support the students' learning objectives and foster an appreciation for the French language in a supportive educational environment.

• Proficiency in Tutoring, tutoring principles and practices
• Experience in delivering French Second Language instruction
• Strong Communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with students
• A degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field an asset
• Fluency in both French and English
• Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to students with varying learning needs
