About the RoleCarmichael Engineering is seeking a full-time Heating and Combustion Supervisor based in Montréal, QC, primarily serving the island of Montréal and surrounding areas.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of commercial and institutional heating systems, ensuring their safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on hot water and steam heating systems, while supporting operational continuity for commercial and institutional clients.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing seasonal maintenance on hot water and steam heating systems in commercial and institutional environments
- Diagnosing failures and resolving issues related to combustion and heating systems
- Conducting combustion analysis and adjusting equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Disassembling, testing, and replacing defective components to restore safe and reliable operation
- Responding to service calls and addressing heating failures or emergency situations
- Estimating, ordering, and installing parts and materials required for repairs
- Documenting work performed, parts replaced, and observations in service tracking systems
- Maintaining professional follow-up with clients to ensure ongoing equipment performance
About YouTo qualify, you must hold a TAG-1 certification (or provincial equivalent for Gas Appliance Technicians) with relevant experience in maintaining and troubleshooting commercial or industrial heating systems.
The following requirements are essential:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel within the Montréal region and surrounding areas
- Ability to communicate in French or English in a technical service environment
Additionally, the following skills and experience will be considered strong assets:
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing hot water or steam heating systems
- Experience with combustion equipment, burners, and commercial boilers
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical problem-solving skills
- Experience in service and maintenance work rather than new construction installation
- Experience in commercial or institutional environments
- Training or experience in a related trade such as HVAC, plumbing, or electromechanics
