Summary:As a key member of Yami’s Canada launch team, the HR Supervisor will bridge the gap between business strategy and local operational excellence. You will partner with Fulfillment Center leadership to build a high-performing team from the ground up, and act as the General Administration (GA) Lead for our Toronto office, ensuring all HR practices are not only world-class but fully compliant with Canadian federal and provincial regulations, and managing the day-to-day administrative needs that keep both the office and the warehouse running smoothly.
Essential Job Responsibility:1. FC Support & Labor Relations- Warehouse Partnership: Work on-site at the FC to support leadership with scheduling, labor planning, and employee relations.
- Strategic Workforce Planning: Partner closely with Canadian labor providers to maintain optimal staffing levels year-round. Proactively manage the "flex up" and "flex down" cycles, ensuring high-quality talent during peak seasons while optimizing labor costs and efficiency during lower-volume periods.
- Strategic Workforce: Bring existing relationships with high-performance staffing agencies, legal consultants, and local HR communities to the table.
- Proactively build new partnerships with emerging labor providers, local universities, and community organizations to ensure Yami remains competitive and agile in the Ontario talent market.
- Performance Management: Implement "High-Performance" practices and disciplinary processes, educating managers on how to lead teams under Ontario labor standards.
- Legal Guardrail: Ensure all policies strictly adhere to the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), (JHSC), and manage WSIB (Workers Comp) claims.
- Payroll & Benefits: Coordinate with HQ to ensure accurate Canadian payroll processing and manage benefit plans.
3. Talent Acquisition & Office Growth- End-to-End Hiring: Lead recruitment for all levels, from high-volume warehouse associates (in-house and agencies) to specialized office staff (Accounting, Business, and Supply Chain).
- Onboarding & Training: Create and execute a "Canada-Specific" onboarding program that integrates new hires into Yami’s global culture while covering local safety and policy.
4. General Administration (GA) & Office Management- Site Setup: Assist in the physical setup of the Toronto office and FC office spaces (furniture, supplies, vendor management).
- Vendor Management: Manage local contracts for cleaning, security, licensing, and facility maintenance.
- Daily GA: Act as the "Go-To" person for office needs, employee inquiries, and local company events to build a strong "One Team" culture.
- Other HR and GA related work as assigned
Qualification and Requirement:- Bachelor’s degree or above
- Experience: 3–5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ontario Labor Law (ESA) and Safety (OHSA).
- Bilingualism: Professional-level communication in English and Mandarin (written and verbal) is a must for HQ reporting and local management.

Compensation Transparency:The anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000 – $115,000 CAD per year. Final salary offers are determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s specialized experience, skill set, and existing professional network in the local market.
