We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT Infrastructure Specialist to design, implement, manage, and support the organization’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems including servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments. This role requires strong technical expertise, proactive monitoring, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Engagements are structured on a contract-to-hire or fractional executive basis, with consultants operating in a white-label capacity, representing our organization and/or our end-clients at an executive level.
Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Management- Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and networks
- Manage on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance
Network Administration- Configure and maintain network components such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Implement network security protocols and best practices
System Administration- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Perform patch management, system upgrades, and backups
Security & Compliance- Implement infrastructure security standards, policies, and procedures
- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and respond to incidents
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
Monitoring & Support- Monitor infrastructure health using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or Zabbix
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support for infrastructure-related issues
- Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and processes
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies
- Perform regular backup testing and system recovery drills
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure or systems administration
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
- Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux administration
Preferred Qualifications- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified, AWS Certified, or Cisco CCNA
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management tools
