Purpose of Role:Reporting to Director, Enterprise Cybersecurity, the IT Security Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day support of Hudbay’s IT security program as well as identification and documentation of security and business architecture by participating in a variety of activities to meet the department’s and the organization’s needs. To monitor / operate Hudbay’s security programs to ensure the risks related to security are controlled and mitigated.
Role Accountabilities:- Security Program Support
- Protect Hudbay and our employees from attacks via our technology systems.
- Provides second- and third-level support and analysis during and after a security incident.
- Assists IT staff in the resolution of reported security incidents.
- Review and assess security and infrastructure logs for indicators of compromise (IOCs) or other anomalous behavior within networks, applications or user profiles
- Assists in the completion of information security operations documentation.
- Works with information security leadership to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified risks.
- Participate in application and infrastructure projects to provide security planning advice.
- Draft security procedures and standards to be reviewed and approved by management
- Validate IT infrastructure and other reference architectures for security best practices and recommend changes to enhance security and reduce risk where applicable.
