Salary Range$27.41 to $30.30 hourly. Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
The OpportunityYou bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with engaging students in oral/aural and/or reading/writing learning activities to supplement instruction in MODL (French) courses. You work seamlessly with faculty to deliver lessons, occasionally lead field trips, and initiate other in-class activities to drive a safe and engaging learning environment. Together with instructors in these courses, you are an instrumental team member in providing feedback from the learning lab activities, tracking student progress, and identifying ways to enhance students’ comprehension of learning activities.

WHAT IT TAKES- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, including written and/or verbal fluency in English and the target language (French)
- Familiarity with computer-based language learning activities;
- Good working knowledge of the principles of effective language acquisition;
- A demonstrated ability to:
- speak or sign the target language fluently;
- initiate and conduct conversations in the target language (French) and encourage the participation of students;
- follow the course materials provided faculty members;
- facilitate educational activities in a large group setting;
- facilitate tutoring in small group or one on one settings;

Additional Information- This On-Call- temporary position is available starting May 4, 2026
- Hours of work will typically be scheduled Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 8:00pm
- This position is required to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs
- Shift days and times may change depending on operational needs Scheduled hours range between 4 hours to 7 hours per day. The number of hours per semester differs based on course offerings and demand.
- Evening and occasional weekend work may be required
- The position is located at the New Westminster campus; and will be required to work at all Douglas College campuses.
This coming semester (running until June 21), the set hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-4:30pm in an online format.
