Qualifications and Skills:We are looking for counsel who are members of the bar, or eligible for membership, in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and/or Manitoba to join our Western legal team.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about advancing the rights of working people and who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented legal environment. We welcome applications from both experienced lawyers, and newer calls to the bar who have demonstrated an interest in labour law and advocacy for workers.
While litigation and dispute resolution experience as well as experience in construction-related labour law are preferred, we are prepared to mentor and develop strong candidates who show sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to union values.
Key Responsibilities:Working closely with the legal team, successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Litigating matters before courts, labour relations boards, grievance arbitrators and other tribunals.
- Participating in collective bargaining negotiations and enforcement.
- Supporting organizing, jurisdictional, educational and regulatory efforts.
- Advising CRC and Local Union representatives on a broad range of legal matters.
- Liaising with external organizations including governments, industry partners and other trade unions.
Compensation and Benefits:Salary range: $140,000 to $200,000 commensurate with experience.

Leave: 4 weeks/year vacation, and other paid leave.
