Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW), Resident Care Partner (RCP), or Unregulated Care Provider (UCP) to join our team for the night shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing personal care, safety checks, and support to residents during overnight hours. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, medication management, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. A strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are essential for success in this position.
Duties- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
- Provide mobility, transfer, and safety support using proper techniques.
- Support residents with continence care, hygiene, and comfort routines.
- Engage residents in conversation, activities, and gentle redirection when needed.
- Serve meals and support feeding assistance based on individual needs.
- Observe and report changes in physical or cognitive status to nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow individualized care plans.
- Promote a calm, supportive, and respectful environment for residents experiencing confusion, anxiety, or behavioural expressions.
- Follow all infection control, safety, and best practices.
- Document care provided accurately in accordance with facility policies
Experience- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is preferred
- Experience in caregiving roles involving patient care, medication administration, or senior care is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively support mobility needs
- Familiarity with meal preparation and basic nursing tasks is a plus
- Previous experience in caregiving or home health services will be considered an asset
Qualifications- PSW Certificate or relevant care experience (RCP/UCP)
- Experience working with seniors (retirement home or long-term care preferred)
- Ability to work night shifts
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Medication administration experience is an asset
