Overview:Pharmasave Pharmacy in Niagara Falls is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time and/or Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant. Responsibilities and Duties Include:- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Process prescriptions and maintain patient records with attention to detail.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and ensure stock is well-maintained.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and dispensary.
- Prepare Blister Pack medications in accordance with legal requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining cleanliness in the pharmacy.
- Operate the cash register and assist with customer transactions.
- Carry out all other pharmacy-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills:- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or Technician.
- Kroll experience is a must.
- Proficiency in MS Windows is required.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous attitude.
- Proven reliability in previous work experience.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude toward work and customer interactions.
- Experience with compliance packaging is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian drug names and pharmaceuticals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (in-persona and on phone).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Experience with compounding and/or methadone is preferred.
- Multilingual abilities are required and an asset.
Job Details:Job Type: Permanent. Full-time and/or Part-Time. Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week.
Shift and schedule: Flexible and open. Regular hours at the moment: Mon-Fri 9:00am to 6:00pm, Sat 9:00am to 4:00pm.
NOTE: 1. The pharmacy is currently open Monday to Saturday. Sunday hours will begin by the summer, and weekend availability will become a requirement. 2. Currently the Pharmacy needs to remain open in the evenings due to occasional after-hour clinic, you will also be required to cover these shifts.
Competitive pay based on experience: $20.00 – $22.00 an hour.
