You must be comfortable working with or around horror elements and everything the genre entails (nudity, gore, “mature” visual reference material, etc.). Of course, you must enjoy creating scary environments, supporting the game’s atmosphere(s), have a results-oriented mindset, and enjoy making quick and efficient iterations.
Main missionOur studio is looking for a versatile Gameplay Programmer who brings a high level of creativity and innovation to their work. We’re looking for someone who wants to do things differently and thrives in a collaborative studio environment. In this role, you will work closely with designers, artists, and the programming team to deliver a high-quality experience for players of The Outlast Trials.
Tasks and missions- You will work closely with artists, designers, and other programmers to help develop immersive features that support the player experience.
- Assess the complexity of tasks and break them down to meet project milestones.
- Write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional code.
- Identify problems and opportunities, and brainstorm to find innovative solutions.
- Perform other related tasks within the RB programming team and contribute to all aspects of The Outlast Trials’ development.
- Be results-oriented and enjoy working with rapid, efficient iterations.
- Work with the designer to create network-friendly visual scripts.
Profile Requirements- +5 years of professional experience in C++ as well as experience in game development programming.
- Knowledge of current trends in gameplay and game systems.
- Experience working on a multiplayer or live game.
- Knowledge of Unreal 4.
- AI experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and version control systems (e.g., Perforce).
- Passionate, solution-oriented, proactive, and autonomous.
- Enjoys analyzing competitor games and providing references for 3C's, gameplay ingredients, and core mechanics of different game types.
