The Project Buyer is responsible for all new sourcing and procurement aspects within our organization. This includes building partnerships with new manufacturers and working with existing vendors to source new products.
The Project Buyer will work alongside both the Supply Chain and Product teams to source and procure new products while ensuring the products are delivered in accordance with vendor commitments.
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to source new products and OEM samples in a timely manner while fostering and building long-lasting relationships with manufacturing partners and vendors.
What Your Day Looks LikeSourcing & Vendor Management- Perform spending and vendor performance analysis to set up strategies for sourcing and resourcing projects.
- Ensure multiple sources are available for different product categories and eliminate sole and single sources.
- Issue RFQs to vendors or execute competitive bid events to evaluate and select vendors.
- Coordinate with Product Team to generate quality standards and send samples to suppliers.
- Negotiate product costs, freight, and other terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Manage the Supplier Master Agreement and the compliance results.
- Manage and follow through the entire PO lifecycle related to sourcing projects, from creation to receiving. Solve any issues related to quality, quantity, on-time delivery, and service level.
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors, maintaining relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
Reporting & Presentations- Create and update periodical and ad-hoc analyses and reports.
- Generate expected delivery reports for product and sample purchases to ensure stakeholders are kept up to date on delivery dates.
- Present data to internal stakeholders and manufacturing partners in a readable standard to ensure all reported metrics all clearly understood.
Strategy & Process Improvement- Strategize and suggest process improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
- Support policy and procedure creation and process innovation across the Supply Chain Team.
- Automate manual processes where applicable.
- Continuously optimize and consolidate the vendor base.
What We’ll Need from You- Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or an equivalent in work experience
- Two years of experience in overseas international sourcing, procurement, or category management
- Certification in purchasing, procurement, and logistics is strongly preferred, e.g. CSCMP, CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, CPP, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier relationship building and negotiation
- Experience using ERP systems for purchasing and inventory tracking
- Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel (i.e., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charting)
- Demonstrated experience in task completion in a timely fashion, adherence to workplace policies and ethics, and creative thinker who develops solutions effectively
- Must be able to travel internationally, and have or obtain a valid passport
