In this role you will: perform well defined tasks, including monitoring quality control procedures and attending meetings with clients. You will have the chance to perform at various facets of work on the construction site and perform continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, specifications and project management standards. Willingness to travel field sites as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Project Manager of civil municipal infrastructure projects.
• Supervise of a team with multiple site inspectors and contract administrator.
• Manage multiple active projects in construction phase including direct communication with clients, contractors, project managers, designers, contract coordinators, site inspectors, and subconsultants on a daily basis.
• Experience in the review, analysis, negotiation, and resolution of construction claims.
• Conduct Construability Reviews to support design delivery as required.
• Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of an area of a construction project. Involves using existing systems and protocols.
• Assists the Contract Administrator and team in reviewing and implementing RFI's, Invoicing and change orders.

Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Education in Civil Engineering (Bachelor’s degree, or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma)
• Professional Engineer Designation (P.Eng.), or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
• Completion of the MTO TLT131-Advanced Claims – Dispute Resolution training.
• Experience as a Construction Contract Administrator on multiple MTO projects, including: At least two project with a tender value of $3 Millions or more as Project Manager
• Experience with progress payments, change orders, leading site meetings, recommendation letters and providing guidance to site staff in relation to contracts.
• Ability to effectively communicate construction progress, and proven ability to identify and proactively address issues
• Liaise with other disciplines, professionals, clients and third party as needed.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Familiarity with applicable design standards, OPS specifications, standard drawings, and quality control/quality assurance material testing methods.
• Valid driver's license

The salary range for this position will be negotiable. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for HyBuild Engineering locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At HyBuild Engineering, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location.
