The OpportunityWe are currently partnering with a great client in the environmental water space who is looking to add a collaborative project manager to their team.
This role operates within regulated environmental and construction frameworks and requires managing technical, regulatory, financial, and safety risks across the full project lifecycle — from proposal development through commissioning, reporting, and close-out. It’s ideal for professionals who want to stay close to field execution and take pride in seeing projects completed, not just planned.
What You'll Be Doing- Leading the planning, execution, and close-out of environmental and construction projects, including water treatment, sludge and sediment management, dredging, and dewatering.
- Supporting proposals, tenders, and estimates, and assisting in the development, negotiation, and administration of contracts, budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
- Managing projects through the full lifecycle, ensuring alignment with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to confirm constructability and field readiness.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, regulators, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Coordinating environmental approvals, permits, ECAs, and site-specific environmental and safety compliance.
- Managing project financial performance, including cost tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, change management, and invoicing support.
- Identifying and proactively managing project risks, scope changes, schedule impacts, and cost considerations.
- Overseeing procurement activities, including purchase orders, subcontracts, equipment, and service coordination.
- Reviewing and approving field reports, timecards, production tracking, and material deliveries.
- Providing leadership to field crews and project teams while promoting a safe, collaborative work environment.
- Supporting final project documentation, reporting, lessons learned, and demobilization or transition to operations.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:- Experience in environmental contracting, remediation, waste management, environmental compliance, or water and wastewater treatment.
- Strong understanding of construction and civil engineering design, planning principles, and field execution.
- Experience managing projects within regulated frameworks, including permits, approvals, ECAs, and environmental and safety requirements.
- Ability to develop, review, and present project estimates, budgets, and schedules.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documents.
- Technical knowledge of environmental and construction materials, equipment, and systems (e.g., dewatering, pumping, piping, treatment systems).
- Strong project controls capability, including cost tracking, forecasting, and change management.
- Experience managing subcontracts, supplier relationships, and common contract types (Unit Price, Lump Sum / Fixed Price, Cost Plus).
- Ability to conduct site inspections for estimating, project management, QA/QC, and compliance purposes.
- Demonstrated health, safety, and environmental leadership with knowledge of OHSA requirements.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management/estimating systems.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel or work extended hours as required.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and passionate about delivering environmental projects successfully.
Compensation Range: $100,000- $ 120,000
