Job OverviewWe are a well established licensed producer in the Cannabis field, located in Jarvis, ON and we are searching for the Quality Assurance assistant to compliment our growing team.
The Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for providing support to the Quality Assurance team and assisting the Production team in keeping compliance to company SOPs. S/he will assist with data entry and document management, employee training and monitoring, regulatory compliance and administrative support related to Quality Assurance. S/he will aid in the ongoing implementation and monitoring of True Fire’s quality assurance systems.
Roles & Responsibilities- Serve as an integral member of the Quality Assurance team, interact/communicate cross-functionally to ensure business objectives are aligned, and ensure that the organization meets its quality, regulatory and business objectives
- Assist in Quality Assurance activities and ensure compliance with Health Canada’s regulatory guidelines and internal SOP’s pertaining to cultivation, processing, packaging, labeling, storage and shipping
- Assist the Quality Assurance Person with preparing and submitting accurate monthly regulatory filings including Health Canada reports and Excise Duty reports for the CRA
- Assist with inventory tracking of cannabis products ensuring that cannabis materials slated for processing and sale are accounted for and have all accompanying documentation (CoA, MBPR, release forms etc.)
- Create deviations, complaints and CAPA reports in quality the management system to perform risk assessments and investigations for successful closure of non-conformances.
- Conduct label verifications, laboratory sampling, analysis, recordkeeping of results and OOS investigation
- Perform QA inspections and prepare release documents for both incoming and outgoing shipments based on product and documentation reviews
- Assist with cannabis destruction and documentation in line with Company SOPs.
- Responsible for monitoring, calibration, and verification of equipment used in the facility and in-house laboratory with support from maintenance team and laboratory personnel.
- Perform internal audits, production floor inspections, review of process records and training.
- Assist with in-house, 2nd party and 3rd party audits/inspections and/or documentation requests by clients, inspection bodies etc.
- Reviewing and printing of logbooks, scanning and photocopying of QA documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, and emails.
- Create QA-related materials such as signs and logbooks.
- Complete data entry, organize and fill controlled documents and maintain record keeping.
- Prepare SOPs to be completed by staff during onboarding and after revisions.
- Assist in the preparation of QA deliveries and facilitate shipments.
- Ensure compliance with safe work practices, SOP’s, and all applicable regulations.
Education & Experience- Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) or equivalent degree/diploma in an applicable.
- Science related field or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- 2-5 years of work experience in a related field required. (e.g., food industry, pharmaceutical, biomedical).
- Previous experience in either the cannabis industry is an asset.
- Knowledge of GPP, HACCP/PCP, GMP, ISO 9001, and Health Canada cannabis regulations is an asset.
- Health Canada security clearance is an advantage.
- Laboratory experience is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in chemistry, microbiology and pharmacology is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail and multitasking.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Criminal Background check required.
- Reliable attendance is mandatory.
- Excellent workplace housekeeping is essential.
- Strong team player with ability to assist whenever required.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Quality assurance: 2 years (preferred)
- Cannabis Industry or Regulatory: 1 year (preferred)
Individual Job Requirements- Reside in the Jarvis, ON area or be willing to relocate.
- Available for work on the weekends as needed.
- Required PPE provided: Scrubs, gloves, hairnets, and safety shoes.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Bending & Lifting.

Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
