The PositionThe researcher/analyst works with the editorial and business teams to provide support on various research, CRM management, social media, and writing and editing related tasks. The researcher is motivated to research topics in the science, technology, innovation, and policy (STIP) ecosystem in Canada, and enjoys contributing to written content. The researcher is willing to take on a variety of assignments at once and learns new software or skills as needed.
This position will be funded via a Youth Employment grant from the National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP). Requirements of the grant are:
- Candidate must be entitled to work in Canada
- Candidate must be a recent graduate of a college or university (within 1 year)
What You Will Be Doing- Research topics related to R&D in Canada
- Proofread articles related to science, technology, innovation, and policy
- Work with both business team and editorial team
- Assisting the business team by answering emails, responding to member inquiries, and creating posts for our social media channels.
- Assist in conference planning by: writing copy, researching panel topics and potential speakers and partners, writing and updating user guides, contributing to gamification
- Contribute to the publication by writing articles and conducting interviews
- Mining the Research Money archive to find potential advertisers, webinar sponsors, partners, and group memberships
What We Are Looking For- Degree or diploma in a related field (Communications, or relevant work experience)
- Willing to work in a collaborative environment
- Strong ability to compile lists of prospects for the sales team
- Strong research skills
- Strong proofreading and editing skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace
- Knowledge of Zoho, EventMobi, Canva, and Google Analytics an asset
- Knowledge of the STIP ecosystem in Canada an asset
- Comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data
- Experienced at multitasking and good time management skills
- Detail-oriented
- Excited to learn about new topics and condense information into easily understandable documents
- Willing to work remotely
