ABOUT THE ROLEAhmic Lake Resort - www.ahmiclakeresort.com, is a 70-acre private lakeside property offering full resort buyouts, boutique cottages, and fine-dining (The Swiss Country House) - 2.5 hours from Toronto. We are growing our year-round events business and need a driven hospitality sales professional to own it.
As our Sales & Events Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for all group and event inquiries — from first conversation through successful execution — while simultaneously building activity partnerships that expand our four-season guest offering.
WHAT YOU'LL DOSales & Business Development- Solicit, negotiate, and close new and repeat business across corporate retreats, weddings, social reunions, and MICE segments
- Develop tailored proposals and contracts for meeting planners, HR leads, and wedding coordinators
- Conduct outbound prospecting, site inspections, and lead follow-up with discipline and speed
- Manage full pipeline from inquiry through billing and post-event review
- Target MICE clients , Reunion, Weddings etc
- Work with our marketing team to promote our events for MICE clients,
- Subscribe to Leads Generations sites, represent the resort at various trade shows (wedding, etc.) to build more leads and businesses.
This is primarily a sales executive position.
Event Operations Liaison- Create and distribute banquet event orders, group resumes, and rooming lists
- Work closely with F&B and kitchen teams to ensure contracted services are flawlessly delivered
- Coordinate outsourced vendors, AV, and suppliers in line with resort policies
- Monitor room blocks and cut-off dates; maintain accurate financial records per event
Partnerships & Year-Round Programming- Build partnerships with local activity providers — guided fishing, snowmobiling, wellness, paddling, culinary experiences — to expand the resort's four-season appeal
- Co-develop a seasonal event calendar with ownership to drive shoulder-season bookings
- Collaborate with the management and marketing team on event promotion and package design
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR- Minimum 3+ years of sales and event management experience in hospitality (social and/or corporate market preferred)
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field — or 5+ years of equivalent experience
- Proven track record of closing group business and exceeding revenue targets
- Strong negotiation, proposal writing, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills — you can manage multiple events and priorities without dropping the ball
- Creative commercial thinker who can identify partnership and programming opportunities
- Motivated self-starter comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
- Flexible availability
- Genuine enthusiasm for Ontario cottage country and outdoor hospitality
Prepare Quarterly / yearly budget, sales target and actively execute them
In the initial period, as long as you need, on-site at the resort for "training / understanding of the resort". To sell Ahmic Lake authentically, you need to know every cottage, walk to Feighan Falls, understand the area, the lake front, and dine in the restaurant etc. After that foundation is built, the role is remote-eligible with some visits for site tours and client hosting.
