About the positionDutiesThe Resource Management Officer I (EG-03) delivers technical and analytical services in applied science, monitoring and active management related to a resource management program. You will work as part of the Resource Conservation team to plan, monitor, assess and restore ecosystem health and functioning.
Wildfire Risk Reduction Project Officer - You will assist the Wildfire Risk Reduction Project Manager with ing or promoting the 7 FireSmart™ disciplines in Jasper National Park. You will conduct geospatial and data analysis and prepare geospatial and technical products to support wildfire risk reduction, education, and communication activities. You will assist with project surveillance and work to ensure mitigations are used and environmental harms are avoided during fuel management projects. You will contribute to forestry assessments, treatment area layout, research for ensuring best practices, and assist with stakeholder coordination. You will be expected to pass the wildland fire fitness standard for Type 2 firefighters, and participate in fire-related training, application of prescribed fires, and may contribute to wildfire responses on behalf of Parks Canada.

Intent of the processJasper National Park is accepting applications for anticipated term positions at the EG-03 level in the Resource Conservation Function. The positions offered will be in the Vegetation & Fire Management program.
