OverviewMineFill Services is seeking a skilled Senior Process or Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Americas on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have approximately 10 years of relevant experience, with at least half of that time spent in a site-based role.
Location is flexible; however, preference will be given to candidates based in, or willing to relocate within, the Americas region.

ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will contribute to a wide range of mine backfill projects, from early-stage scoping studies and preliminary economic assessments through to pre-feasibility and feasibility studies. You will be involved in site audits, due diligence work, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational trade-off studies, helping clients identify practical and effective solutions to technical challenges.
Your work will also include supporting backfill management, design, and technical analysis activities such as bulkhead design, fill exposure analysis, reticulation design, and laboratory studies.
You will liaise closely with external consultants, site personnel, and original equipment manufacturers across multiple disciplines throughout each study or project. A key part of the role will involve identifying project constraints, risks, and opportunities, as well as developing the basis of design for backfill systems, including fill demand, available materials, and technically feasible backfill solutions. You will prepare mass balances and process flowsheets, specify process equipment, undertake hydraulic flow modelling and pipeline design. In addition, you will prepare, review, and contribute to technical reports, provide commissioning support for backfill systems, and assist with operations and maintenance activities both on-site and remotely.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop experience across all facets of the business, depending on their interests. They will work alongside our expert leaders in Geotechnical, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Project Management disciplines to further build their technical and professional capabilities. The role can also include opportunities for site work and site visits for candidates who are interested in gaining further field-based experience.

Qualifications- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering
- Approximately 10 years of experience in mining, processing, or consulting
- Willingness and availability to travel domestically and internationally
- Strong enthusiasm and an inquisitive mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Spanish language skills are an asset
- Strong safety awareness
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Experience with mine planning software such as Deswik is considered an asset
