SUMMARYReporting into the Director, Operations, this role oversees multiple heavy civil construction projects from planning through execution, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards. The position leads project teams, manages stakeholders, mitigates risk, and ensures full regulatory and health & safety compliance while supporting team development.
PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLEPROJECT PLANNING & DELIVERY- Manage and oversee multiple heavy civil construction projects from start to finish.
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Understand estimated costs; help manage project budgets and ensure projects stay within budget.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and to required quality standards.
- Monitor project performance and identify areas for improvement.
TEAM LEADERSHIP & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT- Lead project teams and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
- Mentor project coordinators and junior-level staff to support development.
- Assign roles and responsibilities to junior-level staff.
- Coordinate and liaise with external stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, vendors, government agencies).
SAFETY, COMPLIANCE & SITE OVERSIGHT- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project plans.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support company objectives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS- 5+ years of experience in project management in the road building and construction industry.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
- Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
- Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
- Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.

WHAT WE OFFER- Expected Base Salary: $145,000 - $165,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
