We are a glass and mirror fabricator located in Concord looking to add a Service Technician Helper to our team. Our organization services products to various construction sites throughout the GTA. This is a unionized position.
Job descriptionGeneral Responsibilities- Keep Service Manager informed of day-to-day activity within department
- Ability to read color charts/ extra and upgrades
- Work efficiently and effectively with a team of Managers, Supervisor, Installers, Warehouse and Office employees
- Direct communication with Site Supers and Installers
- Relay all necessary communication from site to Management
- Problem solve any issue or foreseen issue that may occur on site (i.e not able to install showers as per builder’s plan
- Keep a log of the various issues and services completed for each site and report back to Management
- Ensure all worksites are clean and kept free of debris
- Processing of necessary paperwork
- Maintains safe work practices by using all required safety equipment
- Comply with safety rules; report all accidents, incidents and potential hazards immediately
- Understand and comply with the worker responsibilities and rights as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OH&S) of Ontario, as well as, the Company’s safety rules
- Ensure PPE (personal protective equipment) is worn at all times
- Attend various training sessions as requested by employer
- All other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience- Minimum 2+ years work experience in the construction field
- Must have experience using a measuring tape
- Strong adherence to meeting productivity, quality and safety standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service
- Highly organized, with high level of accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines for critical tasks Strong work ethic, motivation, interpersonal and judgment skills
- Ability to use and read a measuring tape
Physical Efforts & Working Conditions:- Standing for prolonged periods
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. alone and over 50 lbs. with assistance
- Work standard manufacturing and /or warehouse hours, which is considered shift work; overtime is sometimes necessary depending on the work volume.
