Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Lead Technician to manage small projects alongside an apprentice. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of journeyman experience, with a strong working knowledge of three-phase distribution, fire alarm systems, controls, and BC Hydro service installations (400A+).
This role requires a high level of professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to deliver projects safely and on schedule within high-security environments. It is best suited for someone committed to continuous learning and interested in a more technical, problem-solving role rather than purely installation-focused work.
- Lead and mentor an apprentice while maintaining a high level of initiative and accountability in day-to-day execution.
- Manage and deliver small-scale projects (typically up to two months in duration), ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, and other trades to maintain workflow, minimize conflicts, and ensure seamless project execution.
- Review drawings, specifications, and RFIs to verify scope, identify discrepancies, and proactively resolve issues.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and technical guidance to apprentices and junior journeymen, contributing to a strong, professional team culture.
- Track project progress, communicate updates to project management, and assist with project close-out documentation.
- Confidently install and troubleshoot electrical systems, including EMT (½”–4”), fire alarm systems, wire pulls (#12–1000 kcmil), cable tray systems, and BC Hydro services and meter stacks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment in line with company and site standards.
Qualifications- 5+ years as electrical journeyman.
- Strong background in commercial, institutional, or industrial projects, airport experience an asset.
- Proven ability to manage schedules, manpower, and client communications.
- Journeyperson Red Seal Electrician.
- Criminal record check.
- Self starting with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- FSR is an asset.
