JOB PURPOSE:The Accounting and IT Intern role is designed to provide hands‑on, practical work experience in a professional office environment. The intern will support the Accounting and IT teams by assisting with routine accounting processes, financial system maintenance, and basic hardware support. This position will provide summer vacation coverage and contribute to project‑based work, offering meaningful exposure to accounting operations, financial systems, and enterprise technology while developing transferable workplace skills. The Accounting and IT Intern will be exposed to the company’s mission of radically loving and influencing lives and will learn how to actively demonstrate the values of excellence, stewardship, and entrepreneurial spirit in both behavior and attitude.
JOB DUTIES:Responsibilities may include expose to some or all of the following as well as additional tasks as determined by the evolving needs of the office:
Accounting Support:- Exposure to posting accounts payable invoices into accounting software
- Exposure to customer invoicing into accounting software
- Assist with processing credit card transactions held by Bell employees (monthly)
- Assist with credit applications
- Various filing tasks
- Posting Journal Entries in accounting software
- Enter bank deposits in accounting software
- Introduction to Fixed Assets - mapping, and tax table adding
- Assist with other tasks or projects as needed
D365FO support:- Assisting with the Financial Dimensions project (data entry and testing in our ERP accounting platform)
- Assisting with Financial Report updates relating to Financial Dimension project.
- Assist with other tasks or projects as needed
Hardware support:- Preparing and activating new laptops on the Bell domain
- Decommissioning desktop PCs and laptops (removing from domain, cleaning, and preparing for recycling or reuse based on specs)
- Organizing and updating inventory in the server room (sorting equipment on shelves and in boxes for reuse or recycling)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) of, a post‑secondary program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Office Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
SKILLS BASED REQUIREMENTS:- Strong interest in gaining practical experience in accounting processes and enterprise financial systems
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work accurately with data and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:To perform the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting or standing while working on a computer for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and is occasionally required to sit, talk, and hear, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by the job include peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus, and stare at a screen.
Compensation: $20.00-24.00 per hour (based on education level and experience)
Vacation: Accrual based and paid out on each pay cheque.
