About the OpportunityOur client, a large public sector organization within the retail and supply chain sector, is seeking a Technical Lead, Release Management to drive enterprise release governance during a significant shift from Waterfall to Agile delivery. This is a strategic leadership role focused on modernizing non-production environment management across a complex SaaS ecosystem.
Reporting to the Manager, Release Management, you will own the health, availability, and coordination of non-production environments. Your mandate is clear: remove environment bottlenecks, enable faster sprint cycles, and ensure release predictability across interconnected enterprise platforms.

Your Responsibilities- You will own the non-production environment strategy across on-prem and SaaS platforms, transitioning to a streamlined Production, Sustainment, and Pre-Production model.
- You will establish and enforce enterprise-wide release governance, authorization processes, and documentation standards.
- You will coordinate release cycles across complex SaaS platforms including SAP, Blue Yonder, MuleSoft, and Workday.
- You will manage implementation calendars, maintenance windows, and go-live readiness reviews while participating in CAB forums.
- You will design and oversee data migration strategies, patch management processes, and IT risk mitigation plans.
- You will mentor Release Engineers and QA teams while partnering with infrastructure and development teams to ensure operational readiness.
Skills and Qualifications- 7 + years of enterprise release management and environment coordination experience
- Proven experience operating within complex, integrated SaaS landscapes
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps-aligned release practices
- Experience participating in CAB and enterprise change governance forums
- Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Ability to balance governance with delivery speed in high-impact environments
- Experience within retail or supply chain organizations considered a strong asset
- Experience with SAP integrations, Blue Yonger, Mulesoft, Workday and other enterprise SaaS systems is preferred
